that time we borrowed a baby

A couple of weeks ago, the Bf and I borrowed a baby and went for a walk around Kits Beach.  Ok, we had permission.  We took the cutest little lady for a walk, while her Mamma took a nap and got a few things done.  It was actually a lovely afternoon.

Which, of course, brought on quite the conversation.  I (made the mistake of sharing) shared what I knew we were both thinking, "So, this is what we look like with a baby." Let the thousand of questions begin.

We talked about whether or not we want kids, if we do, when do we want them, what we want to accomplish before we have kids, what we want after.  Then leading to how would we raise our kids, and where, how will we support them and ourselves.......it literally went on for a while.

It was quite sweet to hear some of the things coming out of the Bf's mouth.  And although this discussion brought on a lot of unanswered questions, it also brought on a lot of smiles and swooning.  The thought of my man being a Dad is....well, he'd be amazing.

All this being said, we don't have children in our direct future, but perhaps one day.  It's nice to know the option is there.

Anyone need a babysitter?

is it Wednesday yet?

So, here it is, Monday....... the Bf doesn't get back till Wednesday.
I've managed to not burn down the house and I've been able to feed myself regularly.
Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!

I miss him.
This photo is the first of us as a couple (3 years ago this winter!).

p.s. don't tell him, but I've kind of enjoyed sleeping in the middle of the bed.

For an extra point become a follower and let me know in a separate comment. And you could win a Handmade Mug Cozy!! Made by me, just for you!!

To say things were a little busy this weekend would be a bit of an understatement, and moving was the theme. Between my bf's sister packing to make the move to Toronto, our other roommate packing up to move out too, there has been a lot of sorting, and "do you want these?", and suitcase filling going on.
On Friday night we went to my bf's sister's going away party. Tons of friends came to say their goodbyes and have one last hooray before the east gulps her up. (I'm just kidding, no one is eating anybody, but she will be in the T. for about a year). It was a great time.
Saturday sort of blended in with lots of packing and organizing. I tried to make venture out to the beach to enjoy the sunshine and a good book, but I didn't last too long due to the chill that was the freezing cold wind.
Sunday my bf and I agreed that we'd enjoy the day together. So after having lunch with a friend at Granville Island, we took a little ride on the Skytrain. I had been told that the Millennium line has pretty views and decent sights to see. We got off at Burnaby Lake and walked around for a bit. There are a bunch a trails and pathways that take you around the lake. We hoped back on the train afterwards and headed towards home. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
We're still playing tourist now and then for the chance to see and do all the fun things Vancouver has to offer.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!
and to all my Ontario friends and family, Happy Family Day!

lovely room

There are tons of different types of photo cataloging programs out there and I think I've found one that is my fit.
Pinterest.
I got the referral from my lovely friend over at a pretty little space. You should really check out her blog, she's the cutest thing.
The thing I like about Pinterest is that I can categorize my photos however I want. You can also peruse through other peoples 'Pin Boards' for amazing inspiration.
For an invite or any questions feel free to email me, also a pretty little space is offering invites as well. and you can follow my Pinterest here.
One of my boards is 'Favourite Places and Spaces', so I'd thought going with the theme of love this week, I'd share with you a few of my favourite! Hope you love them too!

You have until Monday Feb 21, 2011 (including the Monday) to put in your guesses as to the total amount of love for the week.

my lastest love

My latest love......Vancouver!

Being from Ontario, I've really started to take a shine to life on this side of the country. Especially the winter. Yes, it gets rather grey. Yes, it gets rather rainy. But here and there the sun peaks out and all I need is a sweater in order to take a stroll down by the beach.

Don't get me wrong, snow is a beautiful thing. I love it even. The outdoors can look like its been painted white. Watching the trees be dusted with it, playing in it, building a snowman or a snow angel. A snow filled space is like a white playground.
And temperatures in the minus can be....well, down right cold. I love hibernating away and layering on the blankets, sipping a hot chocolate.
However it can get frustrating driving and trying to get around. Dangerous even if you're not prepared. So the few times that Vancouver gets snow (which might be this weekend!),
considering its not too often, why not take the day off. Curl up on the couch and stay nice and cozy.
As much as winter is lovely, I'm really excited to experience the warmer months. We've had some beautiful sunsets lately, and I can only imagine how much more vibrant they'll be come summer.

What do you love about this city?
